Choreographic lab is a workshop designed for young dancers and choreographers to create their own choreographic materials and ideas in relation to practice and tools of Milan Tomášik.
The choreographic workshop will approach the physical body as the source of managing the process of composing. We will start from the idea of multi-level muscle tension, which largely determines the expression and meaning of the dance. An important part of our research will be devoted to dynamics, speed, and duration of a specific tension, to articulation and isolation of body parts.
In the second part of the workshop we will explore and develop the dancer’s relation to the space and co-dancers and play with the aspects of composition that include the dancer’s liveness, openness, and excitement about trying out new things.
