Because these wings are no longer wings to fly
But merely vans to beat the air
The air which is now thoroughly small and dry
Smaller and dryer than the will. – T.S. Eliot.

A dark tale can be as magical and poetic as sombre and upsetting. This starting point has brought up many questions on the notion of meeting: meeting the other, but also the meeting of the self, of the past, of the dark truths.
We would like that together/alone, our bodies/body will tell a story, sometimes through abstract movements, sometimes through more figurative ones. This will allow us to play with the relationship between fiction and reality.
As a result of the meeting of our two artistic universes, the workshop will mix elements from contemporary dance and performative dance. We would like to specifically focus on exercising duet work while using our research.
We will use tools from improvisation, choreography and our whole life experience in order to approach ways of dancing with a partner.
We will play and explore with the idea of the meeting, surpassing the simple image of the male/female relationship or of the sexual, gender related rapport. It is about, for the dancer, being at the same time a participant and an observer, to work at the same time his physicality in space but as well to address the space and physicality with the other dancer and with the audience.
The particularity of Peter Jasko’s universe is expressed through very precise physical abilities that he inherited partially from folk dancing.
Clara Furey’s universe is in opposition, much more performative: direct, intimate and charged

Clara Furey (Canada) is musician, choreographer, performer. She graduated at the Conservatoire de Paris, and later at l’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. Since 2011, she turns towards choreography and develops work that is focused on a hyper-awareness of sensory perception. After dancing for numerous choreographers, including Georges Stamos and Benoît Lachambre, who had a strong impact on her artistic approach, Clara Furey decided in 2003 to focus on choreographic creation and performance art, conceiving dance in terms of the body’s full range of movements, breaths, work, action.  She created projects at the crossroads of dance, performance and music., such as Hello… How Are You?, a dance-theatre hybrid co-created in with actress Céline Bonnier, Ciguë, co-created with French choreographer Eric Arnal Burtshy. Her works toured in numerous festivals including the Biennale of Venise, Les Rencontres Chorégraphiques in Paris, the Festival TransAmériques in Montreal, ImPulsTanz in Vienna, Performance Mix in N.Y and in different countries such as Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovaquie, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium. In addition to choreographic and performance work, Clara Furey shares her artistic processes through creative workshops and labs.
Untied Tales represents a pivotal stage in the path of Clara Furey, since it combines the artist’s overall reflections developed not only in dance, but in music and the performing arts. Continuing to delve into the darkest zones of existence, and to explore the theme of the encounter with the Other, Clara and Peter have created a dark and serious fairy tale. One that perfectly combines two distinct artistic approaches and sensibilities, each centered on physical and gestural research of extreme precision.
Clara Furey joined Par B.L.eux as an associate artist in 2016.
